Workshops

🖨Brochure

Assemblage Sisters workshops are designed to give flexibility to educators and learners. We ask you to choose a workshop then choose the types of materials you would like to use. Let us know what themes or topics you have been discussing in class and any particular techniques and skills you would like us to focus on.

Most of our workshops can be taught to all ages. We tailor each workshop to the needs of the group. For example, our Assemblage workshop can be modified for the early Childhood learning context by using larger materials that enable children to thread independently. For young children we provide simple tools and encourage students to thread and tie, sort and count, and organise their materials.

The process of making art. Lessons in life.

Inspired by stained glass windows, L aged 7, has planned and created this pony painting. Taking time to arrange ideas and organise materials before realising the final art work is an important and transferable skill.  Children often rush their work because adults rush them. Let's give them time to learn and enjoy the process.  Here L has also learned about colour mixing and values, composition, brush techniques.    ...and had fun doing it.
