Celebrating Youth Week

The Assemblage Sisters love  Community A Fair at Addi Road.  It is a great way for people to access a variety of service providers.  DSA Employment Solutions, Headspace, Youth of the Street, the ATO, the Ethnic Community Services Co-operative, and Community and Cultural Connections, to name a few. This month  Live at the Fair featured an open stage.  The young people performing were so talented. Addi Road and Youth Off The Street ran the BBQ. Assemblage Sisters ran a collaborative canvas. We began in the sunshine but had to retreat to the hall when the rain came down.  It was a great day all round.

How art could help encourage kids to study science | Popular Science

Leonardo Da Vinci (public domain) This article by  Cassidy Mayeda  in  Popular Science is worth a read. We couldn't be happier with this kind of discussion. The rigid thinking behind the separation of fields of study is not conducive to creativity and discovery in any field.  How art could help encourage kids to study science | Popular Science Every day we meet children in Art workshops developing their powers of observation and their fine-motor skills. These skills are important in all fields of study and work. Some students are drawn to the aesthetic, others to subject matter, and others to the technical elements of the work. The Artist will be drawn to multiple elements.  Have a read and feel free to share your thoughts and share other resourced on the subject.
